Yeah a y-pipe. It really makes no difference in your exhaust sound and gives you a ton of hp.

Come on there are so many threads about this and stickies to explain it all! Read! Any exhaust with the stock muffler will be quiet. y pipe is really the key to performance in the exhaust so just do that if you want a performance and no sound. There are so many threads on that stuff....Y pipes rang from $160 to over $300. Read the stickies and read this....http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaYpipes.

jxkim, go for the full warpseed if you want. It will be louder than stock. Shouldnt be too loud but since it's not a fart can it will not sound like a honda. Try it out and post some clips!

Hehe, I dont know why but that is just kinda funny to me. I guess majority of you all are in your 20s+ and have a family, etc...but Im 16, no job and still trying to mod the max, so when you say 'just try it out' on a $600 item, Im saying to myself 'try it out? I hope Ill like it enough for me to keep it atleast 2 years'.

Anyway, back on topic. If you do decide to 'try it out' let me know. I was looking at that a while ago for me, but never got serious about it. Would love to hear the way it sounds.

Haha actually I understand. I'm in college I actually have more bills. But people are spending the money on things and they want everyone to tell them "yes get that". It's your car. If you see something and want it then go for it. I havnt bought anything new for my car because I dont have that money. I can get the entire cat back system for half the price of a new one because I go to the classifieds. But if he was interested in that particular full exhaust from warpspeed I think he should try it out. If it's nice then he'll be a good product starter. But I agree, if you dont have the money then don't try anything out haha. Also if he doesnt like it I'm sure a newb would buy it off him haha.

Yeah thats what I orginally meant. Catback is $400 or so. Y pipe is $200. Cat is another $100 or so. Getting the entire system from warpspeed plus hardware and everything is a good deal. I think it should be fine. I don't think it will be too loud either. You can always put a silencer in if need be. But I bet you'll like the sound.
