be careful with electronics cleaner. worked for me but better get the MAF to be safe.

Just so that you know, the 2k1 MAF is completely different then ours. It's basically alot weaker and more fragile. But i agree i wouldn't use anything but MAF cleaner.

I just tried using the CRC electronics contact cleaner on the MAF. Sprayed the hell out of it from the screened side, and then the same with the other side. Idles like it had when I first bought it again. Also, throttle is more crisp and responsive. I'd like to see this contact cleaner put up against CRCs "MAF"
cleaner. I'm sure they are pretty much the same product with same ingredients. But whatever, be **** if you wish...

If the MAF is an electrical sensor, then you can use contact cleaner on it. A clean sensor is better than a dirty one!!

ok yeah. i just recently installed an intake on my car... 97 maxima. and i noticed that when i took off the maf it looked a lil dingy, keep in mind ive got a couple miles *literaly* less then 200,000. butyeah, i kinda dusted it off with a soft cloth and you could see the difference. should i go ahead and use the cleaner and get the rest off or do you think it would be worth the time or money and make enough of a difference. its real easy for me to get mine off now. two hose clamps and its off. *oh yeah, i recomend weapon-r intake to anyone whos looken for one. secret weapon* lol

I'd be really careful cleaning the MAF with a cloth...it's extremely sensitive. I plan to spray mine down tomorrow with MAF cleaner. I'm not going to touch it with anything else.

I used the CRC MAF Cleaner yesterday. I soaked it and cleaned the screen while I was at it. Also cleaned the TB a bit. Engine seems a bit smoother at idle especially, but nothing major.
