change clock color "mod"

in the how to or faqs there is the change clock color mod
for those that do not know what i am talking about, all you do is basically put colored cellophane paper over the lcd display clock.

the red/magenta paper creates a white color (for me it has this very slight purple tint to it). you dont want to add more than one layer of the cellophane because the display becomes too dim. ANYONE know what color cellophane paper to use in order to create different colored clock displays? i want to get blue or red on the clock. i believe the clock and cellophane paper dont follow traditional color mixing rules. (ex: yellow + blue = green)

so if no one has tried experimenting, i am willing to be the guinea pig. i'll go out and buy a bunch of different colors. the thing is i can only buy them in full rolls so would be a waste when i need only a square inch of it. i was thinking for like $1 i would send people the color they want with more than enough paper (1 sq ft). well that was one idea... ?

red cellophane creates a white. Hence, any color in front of that will be the color used. I'll be doing double red cellophane in the spring when I change everything to red leds. Been putting that off for 2 years now.

well if you read my whole post. i tried 2 layers. 1.) it was pretty dim and 2.) it created a pink red. and this is with my dimmer wire already cut.

Nothing I use ever seems to work on my clock. I got it to be white, but it took 2 layers of this stuff and in the daytime it's hard to see the clock.

Took two layers of light red for me. The first one yielded NO difference whatsoever, but the 2nd one turned it white with a slight tint of blue. I don't see what everyone is talking about with 2 layers, it's just a little fuzzy and perfectly visible in the daytime.

I did this a while back but could barely ever see what my clock said because it was to dark so I undid it.

jxkim. if u want the blue color, you'll have to cop some blue cellophane and put it over the red. will it be dim? yup. will it be blue? yup. i think the cellphane we used on yours is fine. on my clock i see a slight reddish tint but only if u stare at it. its like v8 splash. u drink it quick. tastes good, but when u really try to taste it, its like sucking on a vitamin
