Flashing Dash

Noticed briefly that my Battery and E-Brake dash lights were blinking simultaneously.

Does this mean my battery is going to die soon?

flashing brake and battery lights usually indicate a failing alternator. have the battery checked first, if it's good, then have the alternator checked. i think you can have both things done at autozone

Thanks everybody. I just recently changed my alternator. So I'm guessing its the battery. How often do we need to change the battery? I think I changed it 2 years ago.

take it in to autozone and get it tested. or, leave your lights on for 30 min. if the car doesnt start up your batt is toast (thats the cheap way to test it). i have never heard of a battery setting off the light before on a max though.

according to this link and some other i found it seems to be an alternator problem. perhaps you should get it exchanged?

If the alternator is failing the car light should turn dim when you put the car stereo on high volume (it happened to me) if it happens to you it may be it. So to get it checked just start the car open the hood and remove the negative (black) ring (or something) from the battery if it shuts down then its the alternator if it doesent then its.... something else i dont know. Just my .02

Driveable, yes. Driveable far? Not if your alternator won't charge your battery.

i dont know if the positive has anything to do with it since you can disconect both to change the battery, so you know theres something wrong, But last week it happened to me that i left the red one disconected and in the middle of the street the car turned of when i checked the positive was disconeted. So it might be it, but my batterie went dead sometime ago and i started the car disconected both and changed the battery and nothing happened so you must check that out

P.S. turn on the car then check the voltage on the battery to se if it passes 12.5 if not then its the alternator also

Well. the car SHOULDNT turn off even if is the positive alone. it shouldnt happen. if you have a voltmeter try to check the voltage. im positive its the alternator

From the link that was posted the guy was driving and the lights flashed.

For me the lights only flash when I'm parked and have the key on ACC I believe. This is where my radio works and I can roll down my windows.

Thanks for the Link but I've just changed the Alternator.

Also when my car is fully turned on the lights don't appear. The only time I've seen them flash was when the car was off in the ACC position. Not sure if that means anything.
