Not that original, Ive been using a metal rod from another vehicle for quite some time now.
I have mine mounted in the front though. The tip has an angle on it and fits into my rad. support. The other end hooks onto the Hood latch. Its fairly secure. Ive propped it open at meets and shows and walked off for hours and its held up against the wind just fine, and my hood is quite light.

I was talking about Apparition's avatar, not claiming this "mod" as my own.

Cool to see, mine is angled at both ends as well, truth be told I will probably find a longer one from an S13 or something similar.

the mevi and mevi cover really clean up the engine bay. Anyway my factory struts went, so i went to my local autoparts store paid 60$ for one set of hood struts that came with a life time warrenty. I got smart, i replaced the hood sttruts in my 5spd, then i noticed the hood struts in my auto were dying, so i took those out brought them back and told them they were faulty, got new ones, then my 5spd ones went about 2 years later, brought them back got another set for free, then the ones in my freinds 4th gen went so i took his and returned them. I think i got my moneys worth.

The number of bullets in a reply increases the postcount no more than one long run-on sentence.

It is actually irrelevant as I think the hood prop from an S13 (not sure on S14) would be a better candidate. It attatches from the center of the radiator support to the middle of the hood latch. The S-chassis hoods are also a comparable weight to ours. I will update if I snag one.

Well, anyways..

You gave me some insight.. I was looking around with the hood opened on a friends S14 and I think I'm gonna get a rod from that chassis and play around with it, hopefully I'll have some luck.

So anyway. Freeway, that hood rod looks like it's permanantly attached on the car right? Where do you set it down, where do you lay it down in the engine bay when you don't have the hood open?

The rod in the picture is not attatched. It COULD lay from the strut tower to the rear of the radiator support. I wasn't a big fan of this placement.
