Completely Totally OWNED!!!

Ok i live in washington state at Auburn and its snowing really hard. I live uphill and as i was going down (about 8 mph), the car behind me slid and hit me on my rear bumper... that made me slide too and hit the curb!(right side/Front passenger side) now my g35 rims are f****d up, and my steering is veering to the right.

Now i'm worried that something ****ed up my suspension... i don't care about the rims as long as me and my family is safe when i drive the car.

So what do you guys think? alignment only? my studs broken? suspension may be damaged? i have an appointment at le schwab tomorrow at 9am.

i got all the info and insurance of the guy and reported it to the cops. Now i need to get it checked to see how much the damage is.

thanks in advance. here are the pics.

passenger's side worst (side that hit the curb)

since the other guy is at fault and you got the insurance info, why worry about fixing it yourself? just take it in, tell then you want it like new, and they'll take care of it all.

As long as you take it to the dealership and get all the ordered parts. that way its OEM. i went to one of the insurance company ppl and they gave me all replacement aftermarket parts that were iffy.

Glad everyone is ok. Two winters ago in my old car (94 Saturn SL2) I slid and hit a curb with the drivers side front wheel. Totally messed up the alignment, suspension and wheel assembly on that wheel. Would have cost around $1000 according to the place I took it to (was before I really could do my own work)

But I agree with the above, if it's his fault just take it someplace that does quality work and everything should be ok.

Well there is a plus to all of this; you cracked thoes ugly *** tail lights, time to get something better.

As for the suspension issue. Its most likely nothing an alignment wont fix. Your toe is probably just WAY out of spec. And, if you hit the rim into the curb hard enough you might have bent it. But, its impossible to know for sure until you get the car up in the air and look at it. Best case scenario; alignment just got knowed out of spec and can easily be fixed by getting another one. Worst; depending on how hard you hit the curb, you could have damaged any number of things: tie rod, a-arm, rack. But like I said, no way of knowing until its in the air. Regardless of what happens, you got their info, you wont have to pay for it to be fixed. Dont worry about it.

i hope alignment can fix it. Thanks for the info.

the tail lights, i like them; and since they're the only red clears available in the market for the max. If you find anything better, i prefer red/clears... let me know because i need them. (like yours too bad they don't make them anymore...)

i believe he is selling a pair at this very moment! check the FS thread. and they will be cheaper than Nissan will charge for stock tails. so work that out and you'll actually make money.

You need the 97-99 trunk to convert the rear.

To convert the front you just need the bumper and you should get the grille too.

My friend was going 20mph in light snow and that Jeep cut him off. So he went spinning and hit a curb. After EVERYTHING at the rear suspension(beam, shocks, everything) has been changed it ended to be the chassis shifted like 1 inch. One of his wheels was like 1 inch inside. And it was only like 20mph or less.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I keep my Maxima parked in this weather.

We had a fair bit of snow in Greater Vancouver, with more to follow today and tonight, before it starts to rain in the next day or so and washes it all away.

Dropped off the car at the shop at 8am this morning. I got a calll just now and they said that my axles are fine. They said they had to replace cam... he said it costs 20.71. and then they can just align the wheels. So i'm like go for it. Change anything that's f'd up. I'm not paying for it anyway.

Insurance guys came this morning right before i dropped it off to check out the damage and took pictures. So hopefully that check is coming soon so i can do the conversion.

I was about to say.. yeah the damage on the wheels was too bad, that link should hook you right up. I got woke up about 6 am by my dispatcher saying no work so I didn't even have to start the max. Alot of people don't know how to drive in snow and ice, and therein is the danger.

I'm trying to get the speedy wheels light-fin rims.

measurements are 18X7.5 lug pattern is 5X114.3 and offset are 45mm

i think my g35 rims are 18X7.5 (replicas) same bolt pattern and offset is 30mm

will the light-fins fit? rub?

i gave up on those rims with 48mm offset.

I hit a curb on my old 99 a few years back and f@#ked up my bearing. Rear passenger side though, and I hit it pretty bad. It also messed up my rear allingment. Suspension was fine though. Anyways, from what you say, doesn't sound like there's too much damage.
