HVAC control question

As I was driving tonight trying to regulate the temperamental temperature slider in my 99 GXE, I was wondering - is it possible to get the HVAC console from a GLE or SE, the one with the climate control and install it? Is it a direct swap or do I need a whole lot more than just the console piece itself?

And on a completely unrelated subject and I don't want to start a new thread...

For my clutch swap - should I even bother trying to find replacements for my transmission seals (rear and front)?

You would need all of the sensors as well for the auto climate control. I was thinking about doing the same thing.
