Clutch makes loud click when pushed in

OH CRAP! Just started happening when I got back from the big bad dining hall. This occurs even when the car is off. Everytime I push the clutch in, it makes this loud TICK when it is just passed 3/4's in. I was trying to figure out where the sound is coming from and it seems like it is coming from this black rubber spring looking thing that moves back and forth from the transmission as you push it down. I searched but did not find anything in the forum nor the FAQ.

I will make a video if someone can not figure it out.

EDIT: VIDEO POSTED. The visibility is poor, but the purpose is the sound and you can kinda see the location. PLEASE HELP with identification of the problem.

Video Here

That black rubber thing is probably the cover for the throwout arm. The retaining spring for the arm or the throwout bearing itself may have broken.

Squeaking and a loud tick sound are two different things in my opinion.

Oh it is no squeak. A way to kinda simulate the sound is just take the hood latch, pull it then let go. It is not that loud, but nearly. It is almost like a weak knock coming from the transmission. UGH this has me scared ****less. My 95 is in Alpharetta and I am stuck in Athens/UGA!!!

Mine ticked. It was the $5 dollar bushing that actually goes on the part of the assembly where the master cylinder meets the pedal. Inside the cabin.

Look there...should only take you a few minutes to find the culprit.

OMG thanks a million. The only small problem is that I cannot work on the car in Athens. Do you think the car will make it an hour and 15 minutes home. I may end up hitting traffic

DAMN! Just went out to check it out. The sound is DEFINETLY not coming from in the cabin. I will try to take a video of it tomorrow. I took the car around the block and clutch was still working despite the noise ... thank god.

check master cylinder...Have some one depress the clutch while you are under the hood. Can only be one of three....pedal, slave cylinder or master. You don't think it's actually the clutch itself. The spring like pitch fork may be on its way loose around the **** causing it click back every time the clutch is disengaged.
