Choose manual and automatic. Despite the fact that I have never done it, it is actually pretty simple minus pulling the physical axle out of the differential. Good luck.

I just did mine about a week ago. My car is an automatic. The P/S side has a "Hangar bearing". The axle would not come out at all. I had to unbolt the bracket from the engine block and then remove the hanger bracket from the axle while it was out of the car. Thank God I had a lift.
Other than that you just have to unbolt the struts and undo the steering tie rod (whack it with a hammer to get it out, you won't hurt it) pop the axles out and slap the new ones in.
Careful of the seals on the transmission, if they don't leak, leave them. You should have "external" seals, little "cups" that will have to be moved to the new units. Clean off the paint on the new axles with a scotch brite pad where the cup things go. lube everything up (seals, axles ends etc) when you put them in. I put never-seize on the hanger bearing bracket so I can get it off easier next time. make sure they are all the way in. Bolt everything up and you're good to go.
I paid $44 for rebuilds and the outer joint was a new one
Thats is

There is a link in the how to section. It is pretty straight forward. On my 96 I did not have to remove the "hanger bracket" just reached up there and took the three bolts out. If you have a manual expect the gear oil to come out, automatic there will be a couple of drops.
It is not that hard a project, but expect the first side to take a couple of hours, second side half the time.
Oh and make sure you compare the replacements with the ones you take out. I was sold the wrong one on a 1983 honda once.
good luck.
