What's the cause of this......??
So basically this past week, i've been constantly hearing this whining noise when braking somewhat hard. I get it checked out yesterday, and bam.. the right side outer brake pad is like almost gone!! The inner one and the left side pair is perfectly fine. I've got oem rotors up front and had them for about 11 months now, with Wagner ThermoQuiets. This never happened to be before, and it hasn't been too long since i've put those pads in. Does it matter if the V-shaped clip's are not there?
Another thing, i've been getting this squeaking type noise only on the right side front, and back suspension, and when driving on those ridiculous roads in the city i hear it up in the front end left and right side. I had the front end checked out many times, and the left side tie rod had extremely little or no play. I got Eibachs ProKit Spring, and KYB Adjustables. ANY IDEAS???
Lower Control Arms are like new (oem) with balljoints around 50k miles ago. Axles are fine (rebuilt) around 25k miles ago. Motor Mounts (poleyurethane) around 15-20k miles ago. All bushings are fine, what could it be?? I remember the mechanic spraying some WD-40 up front, and that night it was fine for a couple of days, but still having the same problems.
edit: the left side stabilizer link (aftermarket, was there from before) had to be greased up, and that took away some noise too. Also the right side front strut mount was replaced after a week or two i had changed the suspension.

Pull the caliper and check the pins...they are well known to stick if you don't lubricate them when you change pads...although it is usually the inside pad that wears. Also check the condition of the caliper boot. A lot of times they like to get pinched (then tear allowing gook to get in) when retracting the caliper pistons during pad change. Almost always, excessive/uneven pad wear on one side can be traced to caliper operation!

On the caliper pins not having enough grease as well as the caliper boot being ripped and not allowing the caliper piston to retract fully.
