LTB Carnage

Well I was doing some work on the car today, changing oil, spark plugs and some other things. when I saw this......
**** Daytona Beach and their ****ty roads

Well I'm going to replace my LCAs soon and tierods, but for now its gonna stay like that, till I can take it off and weld it back together.

btw that bar use to be straight

Another think I learned today, when you have a Big Bore MAF do not start the car without the filter. I was cleaning the JWT pop intake and started the car after the oil and spark change to let it run, and check my tune (spark plugs use to be a step colder, just a precaution) and 5 minutes later I hear my car dip to 400 rpm....wtf, well dave was stupid and didn't hae the filter on and it was screwing with the big bore MAF

Heh... I've had my share of problems in Jacksonville, Fl. Florida roads just suck on an average.

Some major corrosion there. I'm glad I now live away from the ocean and all that salt.

This car is from the north, its been here for about 3 years, the corrosion on the bar is from the exhaust pipe rubbing it and the heat so it rusted a bit

you should see my lower radiator support, its rusted straight through to the other side

I have the stage 1, but when I pull the engine, I'm gonna fix it and turn it into a stage 2, and maybe turn it into a stage 3.....

Yes I have headers, I had to modify the bar alot to make it fit, I lost about an inch of clearance on top of what you lose with the LTB. I'm going coilovers and lowering the car yet another 1/2"-3/4"

yeah everything is fine, just that was ripped off.

I know what did it too, these damn idiots who lay the pavement, let the stupid man hole covers stick way up out of the level of the pavement and they are in the middle of the road, so its hard to miss sometimes.

Indeed. I dont know what the FDOT does with their money but they dont spend it on roads. Here in Ga, thats all they do is repave.. which I guess explains the insane short-falls in the GDOT budget this year.

I typically just hit the manhole covers at gas stations with my wheels because it's comical how stiff my suspension is

Wow.. That's impressive!
only time I've seen carnage that bad on an LTB was when a friend of mine hit a manhole cover on the highway doing about 60. It sent the car airborne about a foot. fortunately the welds held on that LTB!

I remember dodging the covers in Daytona beach when I was there last fall. what a PITA!!!

I going to go to a mechanic, have him give an estimate on rewelding and any other work required...I'm going to send the bill to my company (I'm leaving as soon as the new job goes through), it happened on their time cause they make me use my car to have me drive to about 12 different places through out the day.
