Anyone else with ebrake boot installation problems?

I got new redlinegoods leather armrest cover and ebrake boot. The armrest was a simple no problem install. The ebrake boot is kicking my butt. removal wasn't too difficult. I'm having a problem getting the wire into the new boot. I cut it in the center of the front and back. One side I got to go in with a lot of work. The other I cant get to go in. Any help for this issue? Is there something I'm missing?

Its best to cut the ring in one spot near one of the openings. You probably need to straighten it out some then bend it back into shape.

I'll post a pic later of what I'm talking about. I don't see how bending it can help get it into the hole in the boot.
