Possible injector failure

I was driving my car and it started idling and accelerating weird. It shakes when i caccelerate and a little bit when in idle. Out of the muffler u hear sounds like pf pf pf pf pf pf pf pf pf.....I dont know what exactly it is, but i think its one of the injectors. Anyone have any idea how to diagnose a problem like this? Its a 95 so i cant scan it

i was actually sounding this out. why would you think this is a bad injector? My first though would be a shot plug or 2. then perhaps a bad coil pack. any codes?

You can hook a scanner up to it, it's OBDII, but there might not be any codes. If you had a bad injector, it would be more like a misfire than a constant pf pf. If you think it's fuel related, you can unplug each injector one at a time, and if one cylinder does not change the way it runs, that would be the bad cylinder.

There are no codes, i changed the spark plugs and it still does it. I went to auto zone to get a free scan but there's no plug for the scanner. I dont want to change my wires because i want to be sure of the problem.

You have a VQ, you don't have plug wires. there is a diagnostic port in passenger footwe side of center console.

An OBD2 port on my 1996 SE is under the treering wheel a bit to the left. Is there another one on the passenger side?

the OBDII port is on the passenger side behind a panel, and if you get it scanned you will have to enter the vehicle as a 96.

Did it run ok at high rpms, or did you not try that. I have a similar problem but the car idles good and doesnt miss at higher rpms but has a slight hesitation at about 2000rpms. I was thinking about trying to have the injectors cleaned.
