When BP bought Amoco I knew the end of the last pure fuels was near, then I heard a BP radio ad saying they were going to sell America's top rated gasoline through BP pumps. I knew that wouldn't last. About a week ago I heard another BP ad saying they were "reformulating Amoco gas to be more environmentally friendly". BP sucks. Can anyone comment about where they are getting the best fuel?

They all have detergent additives. Some gas has false octane boosters. Amoco added nothing. One of the best mods you can have is clean fuel!

BP petrol has always sucked. I use 93 Octane Chevron Techroline exclusively.

I also use 93 Chevron but don't know if its better than any others. I always buy Chevron though and have had no complaints.

I use Hess very infrequently but only because there aren't any around. When I cruise DPA (a busy street where car people go to drive around and cause trouble around here) there are three up there. Two are actually within sight of each other. Along with another dozen gas stations, a handful of car stereo places, some parts stores, and at least one of almost every fast food place there is. But anyway, I like Hess the best, Amaco second, then Mobil. There's a Sunoco I hit up a lot because it's cheap and I have no complaints about them either. Still not as good as Hess though. I get great milage off a tank of that. (Probably the most eclectic gas user there is...) I also go to Jetco (not great) and a local gas station that overcharges me (both in posted price and also in crooked pumping. Last time I got a fill up there, they fit 20 gallons when the light had just gone on that morning leaving me with about 2.5 gallons in an 18.5 gallon tank.) I go there because it's free because my parents have an account there. I hate being a broke college kid. The other places I vary on so much because of where I am at the time, and what day of the week it is (Monday Amaco is 4cents off, Tuesday it's 6 cents at Sunoco, weekends at the other Sunoco it's premium for the price of midgrade, etc.) I'm p!ssed though because when I went to the crappy free gas place, he filled me up with regular. I'm going to have to fill it with premium when it gets to 3/4s the tank and then burn as much of it out as I can to flush that filthy **** out....

76 gasoline

The 76 station near me (greater Seattle, WA) uses gas blended with Ethanol. The 99 4th gen manual recommends not using Ethanol blends.
