I just shaved off the Nissan symbol and the "MAXIMA" off the trunk lid of my 1995 max. There was some dirt that had gotten behind the letters and has left some scratches where they use to be(making what use to be there still a little visable). I am going to get the trunk lid repainted and dont know if I should shave off the keyhole also or not. I dont care if I cant open it with the key or not, I can do it from the door or with the remote. What do you guys think, will it look cool or cr@py?

I appreciate the input from the 3 voters. I would like to have about 10-15 votes before I make a decision, please keep them comming.

Heres an idea of what it might look like:

I think it looks a lot better without the keyhole.

I have already taken off the "NISSAN" and the "MAXIMA" off the rear. I want to, and as soon as I get another pay check I will, shave off the key hole/lock for the trunk. To take off the "NISSAN" and the "MAXIMA" off all you need is a heat gun(hair dryer will work too) and dental floss. Removing the keyhole will leave a hole in the trunk - I live in Colorado and dont want any water getting into the trunk and messing up my subs & amps. I will need to pay to have the trunk repainted and have some metal welded over the hole to make it look like it was never there. I hope this explaines it for ya.

In reguards to "a WOMANS perspective" - Preach on!! I too believe that the shaved look is best...

I am going to have it done at a shop where I use to work and he is going to give me a deal because I will do some of the work myself. It will cost $300 to have it taken out, welded over, repainted and reclearcoated. Usually he said it would cost about $450-500.

Not a problem. If you shop around you might be able to find a cheaper place than where I am going, but I dont think you can beat $300. The shop I'm going to does a lot of custom work and that is why it is about 2/3rds more expensive to have them do it than what I will pay - their time is expensive. If you know how to do some of the work offer to do it when you are negotiating the price - it will definatley pay off in the long run.
