Harbor Freight tools sells a "Fuel Master".

From the catalog:
"Simply strap to your fuel line to save gas and increase efficiency.
Fuel Master's magnetic field breaks up clusters of hydrocarbon for more complete burning.
Use on cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and small engines.
11.6% average highway fuel savings as tested by a U.S. EPA accepted Laboratory.
Prevents buildup of dirt in engine injectors."

Sounds like a load of stink to me.

Anybody know anything about this - like how it could possibly work?

Complete baloney.

Car makers, Nissan included, spend millions to improve fuel efficiency. If ordinary magnets would do the trick they would be standard equipment on all cars. They aren't.

I thought as much.
Guess there's still one born every minute...

"breaks up clusters of hydrocarbon for more complete burning"
uh-hu, I see

"Prevents buildup of dirt in engine injectors"
ahh, so that would be all the ferrous dirt in my gas...

"as tested by a U.S. EPA accepted Laboratory"
they meant to say "as tested by a U.S. EPA bribe-accepting Laboratory"

I had meant to post this on the general forum
but I posted it here by mistake first.

well, of course DBM has the answer
and tells it like it is right away
[Thank You Mr. Martin]

But the thread on the general forum about this is more entertaining.
Not more educational mind you...
