Are they full headers right back to the cat or short headers with a front flexi-joint and a Y-pipe?

good luck with the header installs everyone. it not too hard of a project. the rear header is a real pain to get to tho. i had to take off the crossmember and a motor mount to get to it. if ur doing it urself, start the car with just the headers on. sounds soo sick

so, apart from the hardware that comes with the headers, is there anything extra that needs to be bought (seals, gaskets, etc) for the installation?

negative! only came with the gaskets & hw for the header to y-pipe connections. gaskets & hw for the header to head and y-pipe to cat not included. this is another thing holding up my install other than my peg leg...

just spoke with Brian, what you and I have is actually the full hardware kit. He mentioned that the gaskets for the header flanges, and for the connection from y-pipe to cat can be reused. If you want to use new gaskets, then you'll have to pay a visit to your local friendly stealership...

ok, i have a full cattman exhaust waiting to go on the car, but before i get it installed, how many and which gaskets do i need? the headers came with 2 gaskets for the manifolds -> y-pipe, so i need head manifold gaskets, and a gasket for y-pipe to cat right? with the fastcat, i got two thin metal gaskets, are those sufficient?

Lastly, i got two gaskets with the catback, but i'm not sure if i need an o-ring gasket as well?

all in all, i have 6 gaskets from cattman.

i'm looking to order what i need tomorrow, so if you guys can help me out I would really appreciate it!

You have everything you need. No o-ring gasket needed, and don't waste your money on the head manifold gaskets, they're resuable IMO even thought the FSM says otherwise. Mine looked pretty darn good and I reused them. All your other gaskets are fine.

thats odd a spoke to brian a few weeks ago,he told me the headers will come with all gaskets i need for the install. then again he shorted me on a gasket for my catback install maybe this is why he assured me this time i will have all gaskets.

i think he included all the gaskets necessary for the headers, which are basically the ones that go between the manifolds and the ypipe. The other OEM gaskets (header to engine block and ypipe to cat are to be reused).

I was in the first shipment batch, got it like 10 days ago i think? anyway, I need a decent engine to put this Cattman system on, before the headers'll go in. That will happen in....never. @#$%@%#^&$% I finally get the final piece to a full Cattman exhaust, and my engine decides to implode. kill me now

nismo exhaust hangers are OE replacements for those rubber pieces you hang your muffler on via the hooks that extend out...the nismo hangers are made of polyurethane I believe, so they are stiffer, so the muffler won't sag as much, handy in better positioning aftermarket mufflers to align with the bumper...

the oem ones over time also get worn out and stretched...which can uncenter the muffler and let it hang lower over time which if you look at the hooks that they hang on, they are angled, so if one is more stretched out or worn than another, it will throw the muffler way off in alignment...

just guessing over a stock maxima 20-22 hp. from what i recall over our old debates they are a few ponies more than a ypipe but the sound will totally change your driving experience. Exhaust note will sound very tuned and sweet as ! They pretty too ! lol !

i didnt know what to expect when I replaced my ypipe with cattman headers and my warpspeed bpipe with the cattman exhaust, but O BOY ! makes the maxima so much cooler and mean !

That's not anything small hose clamps cannot fix. I can type, in red lettering, Nismo on my hose clamps and sleep better at night. My b pipe was clanking every shift, added a hose clamp to the hangers, haven't heard a 'clank' ever since.

Just curious, how much were they? Not that I want them, it just seems that you would be ahead of the game if you bought generic hangers or OEM ones every couple of years when your stuff begins to sag.

Secondly, does Nismo really make exhaust hangers??? or did you get these from ebay....maybe some smuch painted Nismo on them??

I got them from Courtesy Nissan at $14.87 each, I needed 4. I knew about the hose clamp fix, but i figured it would be simpler to just get some more rigid hangers and be done with it.

Brian suggested in his instructions for the catback install to replace the oem hangers with either Walker brand or Nismo - since his catback is a bit heavier than stock, it might hang lower with the oem ones.

I called him up after receiving my headers and asked if there were any other gaskets I needed, because he had mentioned to me they were low on hardware kits. The installation kit for the headers is supposed to include bolts for the manifolds to ypipe and 2 gaskets. To keep the price at $800 they didn't include the manifold gaskets since they can be reused anyway.

I'm still waiting for those hangers to come in so i can have the whole system installed in one shot. I'm going on a road trip to DC this weekend, so I'll probably shoot for next week to get these on the car.
