creek/squeaking when cutting the wheel all the way

i know it puts a lot of stress of the rack when you cut the wheel all the way to either side, but up until recently ive never gotten a squeaking/creaky sound. thats really the best i can describe it...kinda sounds like a squeaky belt...but not exactly. from this wonderful description does anyone have an idea of what it is?

was it cold outside and was the engine cold when it squealed? if so, it could have been the pump itself.

I get this too sometimes at parking lot speeds, I was told it could be related to a bad strut mount but I haven't really looked into it yet. Too damn cold outside.

Does it sound like an old creaking wooden pirate ship?

to me it is more like hissing sound and I hear it when I turn the steering to the extreme right or left. I noticed it when the hood was up and engine idling while I was trying to investigate the leaking power steering fluid.

I have this same problem...I thought maybe needed power steering fluid, but that was good, Only able to be heard when I get in it in the morning as I drive to work....It is cold in the mornings and It makes that high pitched noise as I turn the steering wheel. WHAT IS IT?

I had the same problem on a different car, a neon.
The belt that goes to the power steering pump was loose. I tightened it and the noise stopped.

Could be a strut bearing, I had this problem but I replaced my mount and bearing when I put in my tokico's and eibachs. Noise is gone.

I don't think that its the strut bearing because I'm having strut bearing noises now and it doesn't sound like the noise he's describing.
It's more of a clicking or knocking noise.
