Of course you can do it, but to do it right, it's gonna be $700 for the lights and $1000+ for labor. That's what I was quoted a while ago. Or you could do it cheap and paint taillight covers or something, but that just looks plain nasty and cheap. I've seen it done, and it is just wrong.

Altezza's?

Altezza's are pretty close to the Skyline lights .. I'm pretty sure with a little modification a shop could change them to have the light closer to the outside of the casing, and then paint the casing the same color as your car. Presto, instant Skyline lights?

Do you think that the 95-96 aletezza's would fit on a 98? The lights are all the same size aren't they? Just in a different position.

Too much work to get them to fit a 98. I wanted to get a 98 to fit my 96...same problem. Now I have Altezza's and I am happy.

I don't see how it would be so difficult though.

And also, street-beat.com has them for 95-99's, and they look exactly the same as 95-96 ones on ebay.

If you mean Altezzas, they're probably wrong. Streetbeat has no idea what years are correct for what parts on a Maxima. If the part numbers are the same, they won't fit the 97-99.
