225/40 18 ?

My rims are 18x8 35 offset and the tires on them are 245/40 18
they stick out a little

should I get 225/40 18 tires? or what should I do so they would clear the fender?

Yeah 225 will tuck in a little more. You're deducting 20mm off of the width of the tire with 225 from 245. Why do you want to pull them under the fender well??

you might try 225/45 though, they'll look lower pro if you get 225/40

I've got 225/40/18 and they are stretched. that's on a 7.5" rim mind you. Your 8" rim will be way stretched. My rim protector is completely ineffective.
Minor curb rash that the tire should have stopped turns out to be major damage to the rim. What offset are you running on those rims?

i agree, stay wide. i have 225 40 18 on factory G35 18x8's 7 spoke. the tires are stretched even though that is the factory size tire in potenzas on G35 and 350's.

if you go 225/40/18, you're most likely going to dent your rims...i would at LEAST go with 225/45/18.....or 235/40/18....but if you want it tucked in more...def 225/45/18....but like the other orger said, there is no rim protector and you're basicalyl gonna scratch your rim if you did a bad parallel job

245/40/18 on 18x8 rims is too much for the rim. Try 235/40/18, I have that size on the same size rim and it fits perfectly.

K so I got 235/40/18. I'll put them on the car next week and see what they look like.
I'll put up a pic
