How much did you pay for your Tokicos or Koni. I am in the market for shocks and i would like to know the price difference between these struts. Also do you like your shocks (like if got tokicos did you wish you got the koni's)thanks a lot guys

Tokiko vs. KONI

I have said this a million times... KONI is way better than Tokiko... Just go out and drive on a set of KONIs and compare them to Tokiko... And you should instantly see why...

Your right Chris, but....

They cost alot more, you have to do extra work to put the Koni's in the oem struts, and the Tok's are just drop in's. Those are the reasons I got my Tokico's. I'd love Koni's but they're not right for everyone. I couldn't even find a mechanic who would do the Koni conversion. And since I live in an apartment complex, I couldn't do it my self....

I'm shopping Koni Sports right now. $490 seems like the best "advertised" price so far. Haven't tried Shox.com or my local shop apgperformance.com yet.

I think the Konis are better than the Tokicos, but they are also not direct bolt ons. You need to cut and drill the stock strut assembly to retrofit the Koni onto a Maxima. Definitely not a do it at home project if you are not mechanically inclined (or don't want to ruin a couple blades and drill bits).

I have the Tokicos and they are just fine. Either way, ride quality on a modified Maxima sucks big time. The stock ride was rough already, and with the "soft" H&R's/Tokicos, my ride is pushing "harsh". I can't even imagine how horrible Eibach/Tokicos are!

So, if you want decent aftermarket struts, get Tokicos. They are still better than stock struts. If you want firmer shocks, get Konis, but be prepared to pay extra for custom fab work.

I spoke to Adam today and he said he could only match the price I was quoted for the Koni's from shox.com ($440+shipping) not beat it...

But I did get the UR UDP for $167

Eric,

Harsh is what sense? My ride is too soft and uncontrolled... it's literally like riding a Caddy... sucks *** big time.

BTW I have a theory that the Blues are just repainted OEM struts... after all Tokicos do make the OEM units.

Ok, everybody's getting better Koni prices than me

Shox.com sent me their quote today.
Tokico's are $319.00
KYB's are $299.00
Koni's are$469.00

I didn't even get the $440 that DaEnigma mentioned from Shox. Guess I'll try Adam @ Stillen or my shop and see who will match $400.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Saved me $100

Thanks! Now I just gotta stick with my guts on the Koni's and forget the CoilOvers.

Unless a group deal comes along...
