I have a rather odd issue. I have a check engine light on a 1996 infinit i30t. The code is for 1101 which appears to be a park/neutral swith. The problem i have is that the car is a 5-speed. I did get the ecu from a junkyard. Could it be the wrong ecu? I ask this because i put the ecu in the car...then passed inspection over a week later with flying colors. The way i see it is the CEL should have either been on much sooner...or the inspection should have failed for the ecu not being ready. does this code correspond to anything for a manual car by chance? All the info I can find refers to it being an auto tranny code though...

 

Since you just got the ECU I would try to see if you could run a parts/serial number against that of the ECU your car should have in it.

 

Yeah I'm going to try that sometime this week, but the ecu has been in the car with no CEL since about late august. That's why it's so surprising that it just came on.
