I need to have some measurements taken. Post here if you have them out of the car. Also, post if you have bose or non-Bose.

I would like just one as a template for spacers. I THINK that my 5th gen spacers will work, but I need a 4th gen speaker to be certain.

Can people please measure the following:

-The ovarall distance from the "point" (tip) of a mounting tab to the OUTER edge of the mounting ring directly across from it (your will measure across the opening)...
-The distance from the center of one mounting hole to the center of another...
-The distance (in a straight line) between where one mounting "ear" ends and the next one starts.

Thanks!

Also, if you have the NON-BOSE, please let me know if they look like this pic of a Bose that I stole (borrowed ) from eBay:

Thats not a bose front speaker, is it? Are we talking about the little 1" one in the A pillar or the 5" front door speaker? The door speaker has FOUR mounting holes in it, not three.

That was advertised as a Bose speaker from a 4th gen.

Can you snap a pic of your front speakers?

I have a speaker out from my 1995 w/ bose. I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to when you mention the mounting tabs. However, the exact distance (diagonally) from the center of one mounting hole to the center of another hole is 6 1/8".

When you say mounting "ears" do you just mean the very corner of the speaker? if so, the distance (diagonally) from corner to corner is 6 15/16".

Here are a couple pictures of my speaker. If you could maybe highlight exactly what you mean by mounting tabs and get back to me, I can take the measurement. Also, if I wasn't reading you correctly as far as the mounting ears, then let me know what those are too and I'll get back to you.

Well, if the 4th gen speakers already have the "standard" 4 tab setup, then they don't need spacers or adapters, unless you need to add depth.

Has anyone who was installing aftermarket speakers run into trouble mounting them to the door?

Not me. Its a simple install and goes great once you get the inner door panel off.

Yeah, I could only manage to line up 2 screws when instaling my front pioneers. Work fine though, no rattle or anything.
