STOP

that is not the item u need. those are fog lights.

if u want almost the best then get TSX...heres everything u need
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-Ac...spagenameZWDVW

if u want average then get E46 bixenon(u keep high beam)...heres everthing u need from these two auctions.

I don't know much about retrofitting, but it says those are foglamp projectors. How would those work/ look if used as a regular haedlamp?

Get some Bulbs, Ballasts and Projectors out of an E46 or E55 BMW housing. Expect to pay about $300 for the entire set and then the retrofitting you can do yourself.

They aren't all that hard to do at all. Here's a link to a site that has a DIY for them.

http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=85

It's very detailed.

well i have one question. how does the light output from the foglamp in the first post differ from the output of the tsx or e46 projector or any regular projector for that matter.

whats wrong with using the foglamp for a retro?

I assume the output would be different right?
would it physically fit??

if ur not going to fork out money on the right projectors then don't get them, just get urself some HIDs and call it a day, because theres no point in spending money on something that just looks cool but won't give u the best output

haha thanks a lot haha guy. your haha'ing really made me want to haha all over your face..

sorry, had a bad day at work.

anyways, i read that article on retrofitting from VQ. i'll definitly use it as a guide line when i do mine. as far as the fogs, its just a lens with a light behind it, the same as any other light. honestly i dont see the problem. besides that, i was using it as an example. My headlights should be coming any day now so i'll install and take some pics before doing the retro and take some again once the retro is done.

thanks everyone who was helpful, hopefully everything will go well!

You my friend need to calm down. We are here to help you, unless you want to be confrantational. The fog lights WILL NOT WORK to retro into the R34s. you need to listen when we say that they wont. You have to get the TSX HIDs mostly b/c they fit with the most ease and are the best out there.

Im sure they could be made to work, anything can be made to work if enough effort is put into it. It wouldnt be worth it in my opinion though, the light output wouldnt be as great as going with the D2s bulbs.

Different types of projectors use different types of lenses and sheild setups.

Are there any other projectors that can be used besides TSX or E46? There has to be other that are cheaper and offer a decent output.

You can use any projector you want, but the TSX/S2000 have the best output.

Just becasue its two door and a convertable doesnt mean its an M5.
What year and model is it? Some BMWs dont have projectors.
