Possible speed limiter removal...will this work??
Ok, I just thought of this. I havent had time to go home and look at any wiring diagrams yet so bear with me.
I have bypassed the limiter on my car by unplugging the speed sensor from the tranny. This works fine except for the lack of speedo and odometer function.
The way I understand it is this, the speed sensor signal goes into the ECU and then out to the speedo. Could the ECU be taken out of the loop? Just cut the wire or install a jumper directly from the speed sensor to the speedometer. As long as the ECU doesnt "interpret" the signal before it goes to the speedo, this might work.
Does anyone know one way or the other?
I'll give this a try when I get home and report results...

I've only ever really cursed the limiter twice in the past. Once, I was running on I-285 in ATL with this other max, an SE, and he kept leaving me behind. Another time I was racing a modded integra on the freeway adn I would pull on him a little until I hit the damn limiter and then he would be gone.
