cracked belt tensioner, anyway to fix it?
Yesterday,i was trying to remove my alternator in -25 outside(damn i hate winter) and the belt pensioner was seized up really bad and tried to turn it and Snap!..so now i cant get the bolt back into place and i still didnt get my alternator out.So if anyone has a suggestion to fix this it would be great. Also i dont need to read the FAQ,i know how to take out my alternator.

The new tensioner is pretty cheap, under 50 IIRC. Exactly what snapped? The long vertical bolt that pushed the tensioner pulley down? Or the bracket? Or the bolt that hold the pulley on?
Did you remember to loosen the pulley nut a couple turns before you adjusted the long vertical tensioner nut?
It should be easy to fix with a new tensioner, but without knowing exactly what broke we can't tell you if you can make it work until then.
When you put the new one on use blue loctite on the pulley nut or it will work loose and you'll have the pleasure of watching your pulley disappear down the road while you are wondering why your alternator light just came on...

Go on the 4th gen do it yourselfs sticky and go to transmission and electrical.then go threw the list and is says how to replace alternator when you go into that,On the page of showing how to do it theres a pic of a bolt with a yellow arrow pointing to it.Your sopose to turn it well i did and it snaped. and now it wont go back into the little place it was in thats exactly what i broke. i think its the vertical bolt that pushed down for the tensioner pulley.
