megan exhaust

what do u guys think about a megan exhaust? im going to get a b pipe from budget and was going to get cattman rear section but i heard that they are not making them any more. so i wanted to see what everyone thought about megan. i dont like the way magnaflow sounds or flowmaster. the megan n1 muffler is like $95 bucks.

Its gonna sound pretty good without y pipe. With y pipe, it'll probably be too loud and most likely high pitched. Go for it if you dont mind the look, and if you dont plan on any other exhaust mods.

ok anything with a stock y pipe and the stock resonator will sound quiet and have no drone... even a fart can..

if you replace the y pipe and the b pipe (aka resonator) and muffler it will have drone and be loud

I had this discussion before with another member, not going to mention names. I have a video, it is with the cattman y-pipe, stock bpipe, and dynomax super turbo muffler. The cattman y-pipe is not an equal length unit so it should not sound any different then a warpspeed or budget. I think it sounds alright, its quiet, which is what i wanted, i dont want anything ricey loud, but you definately know its not stock. Cruising in low rpm, its got a deep sound, but after 2500rpm you cant even hear it. at redline i have no clue because my intake screams louder then the exhaust has ever been (except when the muffler broke off). I think with an budget resonated it sounds pretty good, the price is the best. 200 for bpipe, 50 for muffler.

its hard to drive, and record at the same time lol.

yeah i know, the exhaust is quiet, but theres really not much to hear other wise. Atleast the intake sounds good i wish i had my video cam when my muffler broke off, it sounds sick at low rpm, but sounded like a honda with no exhaust after 5000RPM

Well i have the Megan catback on my car, and I like it. However when i switch over to a y-pipe I'm going to have to look for alternatives. Here is a pic of my muffler on the car, its pretty big but fits the cut ou on the back bumper perfectly.

For you however I'd recommend that you just get the Budget B-Pipe and keep the stock rear section, it sounds better and is low key.

An .org member recommended that I buy this muffler if I get a Y-Pipe with my Megan Catback. http://www.napaonline.com/masterpage...+-+Soundmaster

He said he just bought some cheap tip and hooked it up to the Megan B-Pipes and it sounded good. So there is another option for you to think about.

i have budget y, stock cat, stock b, dynomax superturbo with a 3.5" tip and it sounds goodinside and outside. Whenever its in gear, it sorta sounds like a smoother version of a subaru boxer engine. I love it. I plan on getting the budget B sometime soon to help power more.
