I rewired the clearance lights and I am getting a short somewhere...could it be that the wire is touching the metal spring inside? would that cause a short? thanx

Hello there,

I noticed that you live in MD, I'm in Northern VA. Anyway, Why don't you try to file (cut) off one leg(?) on the bulb then turn it 180 degree and put it back in? Some one here did it on their '95-'96, and I did mine('95) also before I joined here. As you might know that on 95-96 models, the corner light use 2 filaments bulbs, and that's all you need to do, no need to do "rewiring" at all. Hope this could help.

let me guess your L. Tail Light fuse keeps blowing.. you will have to change it to a 10 amp fuse before it stops blowing..

if you wired it like i told you with just switching the wires .. then chances are this is the problem you are having..

I would have just put the bulbs in backward, but I rewired a while ago, i'll try to put in a 10 and see if it works, thanx.

Fuse upgrade unadvisable

A fuse is a protective device. It protects the wiring on the branch circuit which it serves. If Nissan put a 7.5 amp fuse on a circuit that means the wire on that circuit is sized to safely handle 7.5 amps. If you change the fuse to a higher rating you are defeating this safety mechanism. You would probably get away with it in the short term but not in the long term. You risk ending up with a "toasted" harness and a big repair bill.
