What all is needed in lowering a max. I orderd eibach 1.5 springs on custommaxima.com and was wondering if there is anything else I need or any tips anyone can give me.

your gonna need new shocks/struts because the stock ones wont handle the drop of the new springs and your going to be bouncing around if you leave them there.

Definatley going to need new shocks. The stock ones will last about 3000 miles until you will probably blow them out. I suggest the Koni AGX's b/c they are externaly adjustable and provide a pretty stiff ride. That is all you need though - you have the springs and need the shocks.

Lower a Maxima.

I know what you're going for. The Maxima does have HUGE wheel wells, so lots of aftermarker wheels don't look good (like my Racing Harts). I am ordering a Weapon-R Circuit Pro Coil-over set, which are really nice because they are adjustable (1"-3"). I'll try them (I have all stock component currently) and tell you how they work out without shocks and struts. I don't think they'll blow out, but this is a little more than a normal spring (these have strenuous installation instructions). They are on sale for $250 from their site's (www.weapon-r.com) direct "sale" link. However, installation will cost you this amount as well. Good luck on your quest.

The deal is on custommaxima.com. We still need one more buyer to my knowledge. Check it out. The sooner we get the last buyeer the sooner we get our springs.

hey guys I was planning on buying the h&r springs 1.25 and keeping my factory struts because I hate the stiff ride is it posible to use my factory struts without been bounce around or having them go after a certain amount of miles or are there struts out there thats not as stiff as the regular ones and gives you a smooth ride.

They aren't Koni AGX. It's Koni adjustable, unless you are talking about the KYB AGX and they aren't out for the maxima yet (early august).

Koni's are adjustable, but you need to modify the stock strut housing to install them.

KYB AGX's are adjustable and they are a drop-in replacement.

Ummm....yeah....I guess I didnt make it clear enough in my post that I was talking about the KYB AGX shocks. He doesnt need to worry about modifying the stock strut housing because he is replacing them, no?

KYB AGX shocks

I just went to www.tirerack.com and ordered mine for all 4 wheels. I had to special order each one of them. The grand total was $339.30. I dont know when they will be shipped(hopefully really soon). I'll post when I have them installed. I guess they are kind of available, although they are not instock anywhere in the US.

If you want the Koni adjustables, the rears are a direct replacement. But the fronts are a different story. You have to cut the front stock strut cause the koni's are only a cartriage that must replace the stock cartriage in the strut. So you have to cut the stock strut, remove the stock cartriage and then put in the koni adjustable cartriage.

Whereas the KYB AGX's you remove the stock strut and put in the AGX adjustable strut.

How did you get them for that price?
Did you remember to order TWO rear shocks? I'm pretty sure that the $87 is per shock. You might want to double check.

Cause 2*$113 + 2*$87 = $400 + whatever shipping is

Yeah...a guy from tirerack.com called me earlier today asking if I was sure I only wanted ONE rear shock...I told him "oops, I ment to put two". He cleared it up and the total is about $423, or somewhere close to that. Sucky thing is that they will not be shipped until around August 13th, and he was sceptical about that date. Oh well, if you want the best sometimes you have to wait a little for it.

Yeah, I know the Koni's are a Batch to put on, that is why I decided to get the KYB AGX instead. Thanks for the info though.
