I think it's a strange part labeled the 'boost sensor'. Even though we are not boosted. That's just what I remember, I didn't go look. If nobody else says anything, I'll look tomorrow for you.

I'm not sure. I'd put my money on air flow sensor. My 97 and 96 have one. Not sure if the parts car I have has one or not. I'll have to check. I'll grab a part # and search it. It might also have to do with yours being a 5-sp and thae other maybe an auto. The computer uses vacum to assist in shifting points and smoothness. The auto trans is electronic but needs input.

You're looking at your tranny vent hose. It's supposed to be disconnected. That sensor is for a non-stock engine setup.

Boost sensor, Im not sure what its actually for, but ive heard it suppossed to be for when you go into high altitudes, that it tells the car to pull more air because the air thins.

Yea thats right, or maximas can fly.

I went and took a close up of it.

Boost Sensor for sure. But like others have said, it may be an auto thing or maybe something for high altitude. I don't really know.

It's the Absolute Pressure Sensor. It reads barometric and manifold pressure for engine diagnostic purposes and feeds to the ECM.
