Mistar rock meets mistar Windshield.

Apparently some time today during my morning commute, a rock hit my windshield about 1.5" from the bottom of the windshield right under the left windshield wiper. The force of the impact caused a nice 8" crack from the bottom of the windshield with a nice 1.5" curvature to the left - so a total of 9.5" for the crack.

Great.

If anyone knows - how does AAA treat this? I am on my own or will they actually be nice and help me swap the windshield without raising premiums?

My insurance company won't raise rate, but you do have to pay the 'comprehensive' deductable.

I work at AAA and if you only have liability then you are not covered for any repairs on your own car.

I wonder what the difference would be for comprehensive insurance... anyone has an idea? I am still, thankfully, under my parents' insurance

My comprehensive insurance has a "free glass" policy, in which they will replace any broken glass free of any deductable.
