you have to reset the airbag light. you open ur doorturn the ignition on then off. push the door sensor that tells u weather the door id oped or closed. push like 7 times really quick. then turn ur car the light should be off

If resetting doesn't work you may have to replace the air bag. My friend had that problem in his Altima both air bad sensors went out so it thought they were blown he just covered the light with electrical tape

WRONG.
Open the door and leave open. Put the key in ignition and turn to ON but do not start. Immediately push the switch in the door frame 7 or more times within 10 seconds of turning the key to ON. Start car without turning the key to off. The light should flash slower. Turn car off and restart. The light should go off but if it comes back on you have a problem.

I've reset the airbag light on a 3rd gen and a 4th gen car with this procedure and the light stayed off.

I had something similar and I refused to pay big $$$. I tried resetting the air bag light, but could not get it reset. I then ended up looking underneath the passenger side seat. There was a plastic part that broke. I think it simply grounded the wire (assuming for the airbag). I ended up taking a plastic tie and securing it to the metal part. You can compare it to the one on the drivers side. I reset the airbag light and - voila - no more airbag flashing!

Let me know what you ultimately do!

common cause for this = stuff underneath the passenger seat. resetting the light wont do anything until you fix the problem.
