i checked the FAQ and didnt see it...

Hey guys just wondering could i put a 5 spd ecu in a auto and would i have any problems

Yes you would... It probably would not work, or at least I "think" it would not work. Do not quote me on that. I think you can put an auto ecu into a manual, and just get a few codes, but not the opposite

The 5 speed ECU wouldnt know when to shift the tranny. It wouldnt work.

That's just common sense really. A 5spd ecu doesnt have any tranny timing built into into it. How could it shift your car? And yes you can use an auto tranny ecu in the manual. You won't have codes if you do it correctly.

Thats one reason why he cant use it in an auto Max. He asked if a 5 speed ECU could be used in a auto max.

I know...I just didn't state the word "no". I said that it has no ability to shift the car. Hence the common sense part of knowing that it wouldn't work.

I was reinforcing what Max_Out said about possibly using the auto ecu in the 5spd.
