it says it will stop hard shifts and stuff, even in a manual. i want to swap fluid anyway since mine is old so i figured i'd put some of that in.

Agreed. If you want to put anything Lucas in there, then use the Lucas Oil Stabilizer. It's good if you haven't changed oil at correct times and want to get rid of burning oil.

Actually, I have put that Lucas gear oil in there but it was more like 75% GL4 and 25% Lucas. It did work rather well, though.

Go with the Redline mt90, I first used it with a manual Saab I owned in Alaska winters and it gave me an instant smoothness in shifting. I have it in the Max as well, butta.

Which lucas product? Lucas makes synthetic gear oil, you may know. They also make about every other kind of fluid, gear oil, or motor oil.

Mixing the 'right' concoction might make a tiny bit of improvement, but mixing the wrong stuff will be Very Bad. Just put in a proper gear oil and move on with life.

Not worth it to mess with the stuff. Redline synth... best thing you can do.

There's a drain plug just like for the oil. The only hard part is putting the new oil in.

Lucas is a brand, so it would really help if everyone would be more specific about that "Lucas" they're putting where.
