ECU code 0509
Anyone has an idea what this is? Check engine light came on and thats the code that is popping out (i'll double check when I go home after class). I can't find any ref for that code... any idea?
I know that 0510 is a rear O2 code, but i just had it swapped like a month or so ago...

I've been getting a code: 0509 but when I check it using: http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecudecoder.html, I see 'undefined'. I read some of the other posts that indicate it's the front (left bank) 02 sensor. How can I verify this?
I have reset the EUC and the code shows up every few months. I have noticed a slight drop in gas mileage (@24/gal local & Hwy). If I need an 02 sensor, does anyone have the part #?
Thanks in advance!

there are several codes for the 02 sensors, i have no time to tell u all exactly which code is what, but i had the 0902 code for rear 02 sensor heater
the ecu tells us exactly whats wrong with 02's. for me it was the heater that went. i replaced the sensor and the code never returned
PS : ^^^ maxima million, dont use that site, rather download the PDF file of the FSM for ur year of car and look it up there, its a longer way to do it but its more accurate and more descriptive. just replace the sensor or the ecu will keep detecting voltage that is our of range.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking as to where to get one of the FSM zip files. Would the 02 sensor cause the reduction in gas mileage since it's impacting 3 of the 6 valves? Any suggestions as to where to order it or the part number?
For others who are interested, here is a site for the FSM: http://jime.homeip.net/files/fsm/

pmohr - I take it the open loop that allows for un-combusted fuel escaping out the exhaust and not getting recycled through the evap? I see ur ASE certified, I'm FAR from that hence my basic questions
