i h8 to start another exhaust post, but...

i am going to get ce y-pipe and prob a budget b-pipe with resonator, i need to know what would the best combo of cat and muffler be for the quietest sound.

i want to get good stuff, and get power, but don't want to be heard a mile away, at least under normal driving.

i was considering a magnaflow setup, but the stainless series is a straight through design and i thought that s-flow would be quieter.

Keep the stock cat and muffler.

The magnaflo can get kinda loud unless you stick a silencer on it.

These threads are pointless. Everyone has their own opinion and these threads lead nowhere.....

i belive that what does ***** sound like is pointless, and i think that exhaust clips are also pretty pointless, you can't tell how loud, just how the tone and sound is...

but i am asking for a recommendation on what is quiet... little different question.

what may be pointless to you has actually helped me narrow down my options, because nobody knows except people who have done it, and i don't have the money to install three different exhaust setups until i get it right?

noone at a muffler shop has been able to help me, because they "haven't done a maxima before"

thanks to those of you who aren't tired of people asking questions and helped me... by the way that is what i think the forums are for, and nobody asked for your opinoin of the topic or question, you didn't even have to read the thread if you had a predetermined thought of negativity in your head.

Because unlike MOST of these, he gave enough background that this can be useful. On top of that, he asked a legit question. IMO, that is part of what a "forum" is about.

Jeez, I didn't want you to take it this far. All I was trying to say is these pop up every 3 days and that there are far to many of them. I completly agree with you about lack of information with regards to an exhaust setup, and maybe we could add a thread to the stickies describing the loudness, ect. I just think that exhaust is very opinionated and it is a subject that is very broad. Also maybe one exhaust thread where everybody can post their exhaust questions. Would be perfect for a question like yours. I didn't mean to **** you off drudoggab, I just get annoyed that there are so many of these threads, even though most of them are completly different.

all good thanks to all, i have found that i am probably going with a stock muffler, maybe off some other car... 350z... but i really wanted something stainless throughout

sorry for venting, i get off track sometimes, no hard feelings.. while the thread is here any suggestions of what car muffler would fit reasonably??

if not maybe just find a good aftermarket oem, but they are smaller dia.

i've seen so many y-pipe thread but never got tired of it... i mean if someone has a question feel free to ask, and most threads are a lil different some may say who's better between cattman and budget, some may have one steup and wanted to know about exhaust to go with it... if you dont like the thread then skip on to the next, dont stop and give a smarta$$ opinion and annoy the questionaire, thats annoying... he had an Ok question give your opinion thats all they ask, if you dont want to then dont make smart comments, i think the org should have a sticky on negativity from members and smart comments, they should be allowed.......... not to knock you or start anything with you, but it's something i always wanted to say and you kinda reminded me, and this comment wasnt for you but for all negative org members

i thought of the 350Z exhaust setup, the sound is excellent, but i really dont know how it would sound for maxima's, if you do decide on this setup please please please PM me on the sound, i would love that setup... if you do go the aftermarket route, i would say try to get your hands on the exhaust tip off the SP2 from Greddy, youll love it, or the cattman

send me a pm and i will send you one back when i decide, so i don't forget.

it will prob be about three months before i can get everything together because i am gonna also do a full trunk dynomat at the same time to kill the cabin noise $200. the tire drone is already driving me nuts. i have already ordered the y-pipe $170, and i am going to order the rest in pieces and put it all on together. budget b-pipe with resonator, and some kind of bolt on cat, whatever i can get a deal on.

You've got a point GrandHustle...and again I apologize for being negative...this thread just set me off, it didnt have anything to do with drugoggab just the straw on the camels back.

Phenry -- just wanted to say that I am still new here but I like the new stickies that you have been making. Helps keep down repetition and frustration of org members. Keep up the good work.

Now unless I have something to say on the topic of drugoggab's exhaust, ill stop posting.
