ECM compatibility

What ECM/ECU unit will work with a 98SE 5spd?
Dealer said there are about 30 different models for my year Max, does it matter which one I can use?

Fed or Cali spec is the first thing you should check. And that should narrow it down completely.

I agree, keep it all in one thread.

get a ecu for your year, your transmission type, and for fed or cali spec.

you can use other year ecu's but your might yeild a code or other results, but it would still work. Stick with your year, tranny, and spec and be headache free.
