cruise control light flashes

My cruise control light blinks when ever I press the clutch. Even when starting the vehicle. Any ideas why? I've never experienced this before.

check your CEL for a cruise control module code or something like that...

By the way...several people, including me, posted awhile back about our cruise control not working..."why/how to fix". I (finally) found out on mine "why not/fix". Took me awhile (parents couldn't afford Harvard ). I tried fuses (nope), continuity/connections at steering wheel module (nope), replaced firewall control unit (eh, nope again)and was ready/desperation-mode to replace control on/off button...even though previous fix attempts told me (nope, again)... I had adjusted my clutch pedal a couple of weeks before and never used the cruise soon enough to "make the connection" (Duh on Doug!!)...simple adjustment and "presto" cruise control engagement. I can't "fix" auto with same problem, other than to suggest the stop switch connection/continuity test, or this blinking cruise light problem but I found why my 5speed wouldn't engage cruise light even though control light said: "I'm on, ya big dummy" Just thought I'd share my learning experience

I'm not throwing a CEL. Whenever I press the clutch and it releases the Cruise control switch attached to the pedal stop which makes the Cruise control light flash. If I press the switch, the the flashing stops....ITs winter here so I can't take it out for a cruise to test the cruise control....I will soon to see if it engages, but the light wasn't flashing before I put the maxima away for hibernation.

The flashing means a component of the ASCD (cruise control) has failed. There is a really long procedure to determine the problem (if you dont have a consult) but from the sounds of it, your ASCD clutch switch is kaput.
