Ok let me clear things up. It is only avalible on the 98-99 Automatic climate controls (the ones w/ the redesigned faceplate). The 99 came with the amb temp button on the faceplate, so there is no need for this mod if you have a 99 with auto climate control. If you have a 95-97 auto climate control, youre out of luck. It is really only for the 1998.

Ive never heard of this. Its completely new to me. Why would they put this in the control, and put in a sensor, and then not allow you to use it?

Hey,that's pretty cool. Last time I took shit apart to clean I noticed that the LCD had an "AMP" indicator built-in, but they didn't use it.

Yes you can and all you would have to do is pop out the old climate control, unplug/replug and put it back in and youre good to go w/ the AMB temp feature.

It 98 only, the 95-97 isnt possible, and the 99 already has it.

Ok you guys didnt pay attention to the other thread. Putting a 99 ACC in is not as easy as you think. It is different than the other models. Also, if you want to replace your 95-97 with a 98 model it might be possible but you probably still won't have the sensor. From what I know, if you have a 95-97 it's not an easy task to get AMB temp in your car.

no ****......maybe you need to pay attention and start reading carefully before you start posting. I was referring to taking the ACC from my 98, and adding just the AMB button and faceplate to the 98 module to replicate the 99 ACC. No where did I, nor anyone else for that matter, mention swapping in a 99 ACC. I thought that was pretty clear the first time round.

It does state that you can plug and play the 99 unit. I was replying to that thread and not yours so maybe you should pay attention and not freak out for no reason.

no, I didn't miss that post at all because that was the reponse to my question. He was responding to me by saying yes, you can use the parts from a 99 ACC, take out the old one, do the mod on it and put it back in. He obviously knew what I was saying, and he does not "state" you can swap the ACCs. I asked him explicitly if the 99 FACEPLATE can be used with button, not the ACC itself. That's where you misread, where you assumed, and came into this thread as if you really knew what was going on with the dialogue. I'm not freaking out, I just hate it when people start making posts accusing others that we don't pay attention, etc. That was the tone of your initial post, to which I responded. Whether that was directed at me or someone who was nice enough to help ME out, I don't take either lightly and will defend said person.

haha thats fine i could care less. The point was that that post read you could switch out the unit and not the faceplate. I read about changing the faceplate and still took the post the way I said. Yes you are freaking out over nothing because it wasn't supposed to be a post insulting anyone. I was simply stating they couldnt be switch easily so no one might think that. Sorry for interupting the dialogue of your thread.....

I was refering to his post above asking if he could use a 99 in his 98. I know that it is not an easy task w/ the 95-97, as above I stated that IT ONLY WORKS W/ 98-99 MODELS. Not to pick on you but just saying.

thats fine, thats exactly what I was saying. You told him he could use the entire 99 unit in his 98. I was saying that the swap is still not that easy between 98-99. At least thats what I was told back when I did this mod. 2 years ago...I dont know why everyone flipped out for me stating what I knew.
