Don's VB Upgrade for us Automatic Max's
#1
Whats up..I recently bought my '95 max se for 10k. It's only got 50k miles on it, so im assuming the tranny is ok. But I hear nothing but bad things about maxima auto's and quick accel. ...is don's valve body upgrade really worth the 450$ ? Does it elimate the crappy shifting, and lengthen the life and speed of your auto trans. ? Also, isnt it hard to take out the transmission and ship it up to him ?
Thanks for all the help !!!!

The transmission stays in the car. You remove a component of the transmission called the Valve Body. That's what you ship to Don.

Yea. I wonder if this mod. is really worth it though? To be, or not to be, that is the question.

It depends on your outlook....
Is $450 cheaper than a new tranny? Of course. If you modify or increase your hp, this will keep your clutches. If you don't modify, but drive your car, its worth it.
If you are looking for quicker acceleration, its worth it.
