I've got a unmodified engine so far in it, although it is hauling around 2000w of system in it =) .. I'm looking to throw some extra HP in it, and maybe fix up some other stuff around it. I can go a little bit over $1000 so I'll post what I'm thinking I'll get for it.

Anyone have any other ideas on what would give me the best HP gains for the cash?

- Stillen or Courtesy B-pipe
- Stillen or Cattman SS Y-pipe
- Placeracing CAI
- Stillen or Courtesy Front Strut Bar

.. I thought about a rear sway for a bit too but from what I've seen on here, you guys say the Strut gives more noticeable results for the $.. Those sound good? And yes, I've already been told the "Put the money in the bank and buy a SC" hehe. I'll worry about that one later.

Cattback eh.

What will it make the car sound like? I've been thinking of keeping the factory muffler on because it's quiet and I don't want my car screaming around like a honda civic with a 5" tip. Will the GReddy change the sound much with the y-pipe & factory muffler?..

You should check the classifieds....

The mods I suggest is CAI and Y pipe, don't get the exhaust because it doesn't do much. But the B-pipe is good though, maybe get a 2000 maxima muffler too. IMHO anything over $400 is too much for a catback. If you have some money left get a hi flow cat installed. I would suggest getting a 2.5" universal one from summit racing. Hell you could skip the catback and install a cutout.

No, the RSB will give you the most noticable results of ANY mod you do to your maxima.

This is what I would do:
1) PR CAI
2) Cattman Y-pipe
3) Stillen RSB
4) Courtesy FSTB

-Shing
PS My CRX is quiet...

You have a grand:
Get
1) Place Racing CAI - $230
2) Y-Pipe - $300 to $400 (depends on Stillen or Cattman)
3) RSB - $150 (I think)
4) FSTB - $35 to $200 (Ebay, Streetbeat, Courtesy, or Stillen)
5) Springs - $200+ (H&R, eibach, etc)

For power get the first two, for handling get the last three. Bonus: the springs help handling and them make the car look better.
See if you can get used stuff off of the classified, save some cash.

How much does the RSB cost?

.. I don't think I've seen an actual quoted figure on that. $150ish?

As for the CRX & Civic's, A lot of em are alright around here cause there's one with NOS and one that beat out a 280hp turbo'd Volvo S70 3x back to back around here. But there's still a lotta goofy ones hehe.

Get the FSTB and RSB as a combo. They both improve the handling in different ways. The FSTB improves steering response, while the RSB improves cornering by reducing body roll. They don't interfere with each other, so why not just get both? In my opinion, FSTB and RSB are the two best bang for the buck handling mods for the beginning modder.
