HELP... Airbag light flashing... Daniel B...
hadnt driven the car nor touched it for about 3 days... Car needs a new battery, so when i went to start it, the car was dead. Got car started however, the airbag light now flashes and i have no idea why. I unplugged the battery for a while hoping to reset the computer and fix the airbag light but that was to no avail. What would cause the airbag light to go off after the car had not been touched for a few days.

This information came from the '99 Maxima factory service manual.
Perhaps your '95 works the same way. It's easy enough to try.
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button, a button which is
pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door
Switch (DDS).
Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7
seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF.
Close the driver's door. Start the engine.
Possible causes for this warning light to go on include...
- a fault with the Air Bag.
- abnormally low voltage in the electrical system due to a weak battery.
- a maladjusted door striker plate such that the door does not close properly,
and the DDS is jiggled on and off constantly as you drive.
If the dashboard warning light remains on after you perform this reset procedure you may have to let the dealer handle the problem.
Worked for me too!
I left my car undriven for about 2 months(shame) and went to drive it only to find that the battery was dead. I replaced the battery and noticed shortly thereafter that the air bag light had come on. What a pain in the ***.
Anyways- leave the driver side door open and insert your key into the start position(but not started)
depress the rubber light switch(inside of the door jamb) do this slowly no reason to get overexcited(one push per second) before your airbag light begins to flash(within seven seconds of stickin in the key)
Then start the car
Then stop the car
Then start the car and it should be gone
If not you may need to repeat the process.
Cheers,
