Idle surging problem on a cold start...

Has anyone heard of a stalling problem on a cold start? It happens right when the car is started, on a cold start only. A blip of the throttle, immediately after starting, regulates it. If not, it will stall. Another one of my friends had the same problem, but sold the car before correcting the issue. Any input would be very much appreciated!

Do the regular maintenance and cleaning. TB, IACV plugs and air filter.

If you read posts from the last two years or so, you will see that MANY have gone through this. Some have upgraded the grounding, some have cleaned the MAF, some have cleaned the TB and changed filters, etc. I don't think ANYBODY really knows what causes it, but keeping up with the regular small things tends to help. My recommendations are to clean/check the following:

1. PCV valve
2. Air Filter
3. Throttle Body/IACV
4. MAF sensor
5. Fuel injectors (treat)
6. Fuel filter
7. Fuel Pump
8. Grounding in general (check battery & alternator)

I had a similar problem to yours and I just cleaned my TB and cleaned my battery terminals, and its not an issue now. My thinking was that the battery terminals were the problem because I had some corrosion.

I heard BG products work well, I'll give them a try.

BG products? cleaning the TB and IAC Valve is something you have to do manually. there is nothing you can pour in the tank to get that done. There is a how-to in the stickies, but it is an improper method. You have to actually remove everything to do the job right. and use new gaskets.
