lost wheel lock

i lost my the wheel lock for my car. i have one tuner lug in each wheel and this is what they look like.

I bought these on ebay. I was thinking about buying another set that look juss them but the guy said two different locks from different sets are never the same. even though they look alike. i was wondering if any of you guys know anywhere where i might be able to find a solution. thanks.

certain shops have the master key that can take any set off, that might be a easier, cheaper solution, that buying a whole new set, or trying to contact the manufacturer to get another one made and sent to you.

that will probably be easier and quicker. a shop with a master set might even do it free, just depends on the shop and if the person is cool or not.

Discount Tire, if available is very cool and most likely will take them off for you.

I had a mechanic lose mine when I was having work done on my car and when I took it to get my rubber changed, realized I couldn't get the wheel off. The mechanic at this second place just hammered a socket onto to it and took it right off. It's not like your going to really need the lug anymore.

Here is a very simple solution. Go to sears and buy a 1/2 inch drive 12 point socket that is JUST SMALER than the lock. it should not fit over the lock. Take a heavy hammer and bang that puppy home. will come right off. you will of course have to buy a new set. Then take the damaged socket back to sears and exchange it for a fresh one. dont try this with cheaper tools as they will break (ie Husky).

yep those are the methods hammer and 12 point socket.

vice grips sometimes work if that fails vice grip+ torch = game over wheel lock and possible wheel.

Those look like McGard wheel locks. I lost my wheel lock on my car and gave them a call. They just asked for you to take a pic of the lug and send it to them. Then they'll try to match the lug and send u a key replacement. I think it was like $15 to have it sent to you. Try them out, they have great service. On another note, I went to Pepboys a few days later and saw the same key lock on their shelf....So i would recommend going to Pepboys first to see if they have them there. If not, check out www.mcgard.com
