CEL after installing non cat test pipe?

I am running a Warpspeed Y-pipe. I also want to remove the main cat with a test pipe. Did anyone get a check engine light after installing their non cat test pipe?

Thanks!
brian

You sure will get the cel. You need to go on ebay and get a resistor mod for the rear O2 sensor. THis is what i did and it works. Only like 10 bucks.

Do a search for "o2 bypass" this is what i came up with.

You will need to cut and solder wires. Make sure you get shrink tubing.

I cant speak 1st hand for a max but generally on most any OBD-2 equipped cars removing the cat will cause a light. Some will run the 02 sims to trick it incase you live in a increasingly **** state where if you have a SEL light, you do not pass inspection. Ahhh New York.

edit - wow, check out the post times^

Thanks tbergma1!

I ended up buying that one...worth a try...

I have successfully used MIL eliminators on two Saleens that I owned in the past, and they worked great. Hopefully, this will too.

I just got mine from cattman and it was 36 dollars shipped. Looks like a pretty simple thing. Anyone know what gaskets to use with the budget test pipe? The ends look a little bit different than the ones on my cat? thanks
