I'm looking into springs.

I'm going to keep the alloy 5-star 16" rims that come with my 4th Gen....

What springs should I use??

I want a decent drop amount without destroying the ride completely.

How stiff are sprints?

How much of a difference visually is there between the Eibachs and Sprints and stcok???

I'll be using Tokico shocks/struts

What to do...What to do???

Thanks!

there have been so many recent posts on this subject so i dont think many here will respond. try doing a search and see what you come up with. i dont know much about this, but what i do know is that sprints give me more of a drop, about 2 inch all around where eibachs give like 1.4 & 1.5 or something like that. ppl here currently seem to be into sprints. im prob not gona lower my car till next summer so let me know how things go with your set up. lata.

ps: plz correct any incorrect info, im only tring to help our newbie friend.

I don't know much about the sprints.. But I do have the Eibach prokit and Tokico shocks/struts.. I've been very happy. Its not as rough as a ride as I thought it was going to be.. It actually dropped the car 2inches. Looks very nice with the factory tires...

Do you have a bigger pic of your car?!?!?

I've been trying to get a pic of a car lowered with stock springs and Eibachs.

I have a had eibach's and tokico's and sprint's and tokico's, I like the sprint set up better because the car actual looks lowered with them. I found the ride a little bit rougher but that's the way I like it anyways.

how rough i the ride??

Basically, I don't want to jiggle and shake so much that eventually my interior is shaken loose and rattles everywhere, or bolts have to be tightened on the car every 6 months.....

But at the same time, i see exactly what you mean about the Eibachs not being low enough.

Know what i mean?

Please reply!

The ride quality between eibachs and sprints is almost identical. I whould say the sprints are about 5-10% rougher then the eibachs. A good trade off for better looks in my opinion. My eibach always made me unhappy seeing that the car still had a good amount of wheel gap left but the sprints made me much more content. Another advantage the sprints have over the eibachs is the lower price, sprints can be obtained for $120 from max8mycash{AKA Alex}.

Would there be any problems with the tires rubbing with that much of a drop?

(On stock SE 16" Rims)

Hey Ian, seeing as how you're in the Seattle area. I currently have a set of Sprints on order. Although they're on backorder. Once I get em on the car I'll let ya know what I think about the ride, if you want we could meet up and you can find out for yourself. Unfortunately, they won't be here in time for Saturday! Oh well that's life!

airmattdog -

Sweet. Let me know what you find. You keeping the stock rims? I'm thinking about doing the same, as I just spent money on them (scored them for $300 with tires).

Maybe some Revos later on, but not now.

Where did you buy the Springs from? How much?
Maximadriver.com has a "group" deal for $119.

I'm wondering if the quality suffers with the lower price for the Sprints vs. Eibach???

Anyway, I'd love to cruise around in it and see how it feels after you get them installed!

I'm not available this weekend anyway, so no big deal.

Thanks!

Tire Rubbing is no an issue, that's why car's have bump stops.

Yeah man no problem! I'm gonna keep the stock rims for now as well. I just can't afford new ones at the moment. Sprint is a good company, I wouldn't worry about the quality issue. I think with Eibach you're paying alot for the name alone. Similar to clothes. Know what I mean!
I got em through Alex at http://www.southwestautoworks.com/maxima.html they came to $141 with shipping. I definetly recommend doing business with him!

Yep, that's who I'm talking to.

$141 with shipping....exactly (119+22)

I'm thinking about just going ahead and ordering them now.

You going to install them yourself?

RE: Springs...

I get the Weapon-R coilovers. the drop is 1"-3" adjustable. $250 for all 4 at www.weapon-r.com . the only thing is you said you dont want to ruin the ride. well, if ruin to you means a really firm ride, then they arent for you. but they are awesome, cheap, 3" lowering groundcontrols. for more info you can send me a private message or email me or something

Which would be firmer? Sprints or Weapon-R's?

Yeah I'm going to install them myself along with mtrai760's help if not other people from my car club. The last I checked they're probably another 2 weeks out. Alex'll have better info then me though!

I'm sure that the WeaponR's are going to be stiffer. I might be wrong though.
