Has anyone shaved their doorguards and/or doorhandles?

I shaved my trunk keyhole and antenna last summer and I really want to shave my doorguards this summer. But now I'm having thoughts of doing the doorhandles since the doors have to be repainted anyway (why the heck do did Nissan put holes behind the doorguards?!). Have you guys done this? What alarm is best? What method do you use to pop the doors? Is it reliable? Do you have full control over which of the four doors you can open? I would appreciate all input, thanks.

hmmm now i dont know what alarm is best, but what you do is you use the electronic door unlocking/ opening.. and yea you do have control which door you open i'm pretty sure
and from what i've heard its flawless... never heard of a problem... its also not that expensive, i think its 100-200 dollars... and it looks great... alot people i know have that system for their trucks and i've never heard of problems

I know! I was thinking the same thing. That's why I'm still torn between only shaving the doorguards and shaving both the doorguards and doorhandles. It is scary for sure. But I guess I'll risk it. The 'once every 2-4 years AAA slim Jim call' will be worth the clean look.

Thanks for all the input guys.

a friend of mine did it another way

on his altima. Shaved all the door handles and locks. But to open the doors...he uses the key fob to roll down the windows, and opens up the door with the inside door handle. Sucks in the rain....ahh the wonders of bondo.

Yeah! I thought of that too. That way I wouldn't have the expensive outlay of an alarm and door poppers. I may start out that way. But it does seem kinda half a. so I wouldn't want to stay that way permanantly. How long has he had it like that and has he had problems? Thanks so much.
