4th gen /5th gen

Does anyone know if the 00 auto trans fit a 99? I know that the mount will work from 95 to 01 an Axle Assembly 04-99 to 05-00.

Best thing to do, get the FSM from the same year car you are getting the tranny from as well as your own. Then look it over and thoroughly comprehend the diagrams and see for yourself how and if they differ.

It's not that it couldn't hold the power. Odds are it just wasn't maintained sufficiently. A 4th gen auto in good working order and properly cooled can hold alot more than what a 00VI can spit out, trust me.

With that said, there's no reason to go with a 5th gen tranny unless you're getting a RIDICULOUSLY good deal.
