A/C Help - Temp Selection Switch Not Working

I searched for answers on this but did not find any. It was 90* here yesterday and I realized I need to fix this asap. Also no heat all winter was fun. The A/C switch will activate the compressor and the re-circulation switch seems to work as well. But the buttons that change the air flow from dash to floor to defrost etc do not work but more importantly neither does the Cold to Hot slide switch.

Basically I am wanting to know what this control activates or changes. In most cars it is a blend door motor etc. I would like to know what to check or replace so I can make sure my A/C is on max cool and get my heat working for next winter. I read something about servo's for the A/C but do not know where they are located. Thanks for any info guys!

It may be something as simple as needing to get your system recharged or checked for leaks. I used to live in Houston and the heat there is brutal, my a/c hoses developed pinholes and I lost freon whenever I turned the system on. I would take it to an a/c shop and have them look at it. That way you can get a correct diagnosis and attack the problem smartly.

Thanks but the A/C is moderately cold but when I move the switch to the hot side with the A/C off nothing happens. I think the charge is fine and not leaking and the door or selector what have you is just not allowing for a full cold setting. I don't take my vehicles in for service, and this car is on a budget to say the least.

From your descriptions, I have no clue what your trying to repair.

Take apart the dash like if you were changing out the radio.

Check the connections on the back of the climate control. I believe there are two connections on the back. Make sure they are secure.

Here's a PDF link if you need it-

http://installdr.com/InstallDocs/Nissan/PDF/647021.pdf

Hope this helps.

Last summer I added an Aux on my deck.. Well anyways after I put everything back together I took the car for a drive and was experiencing the same thing... Just a lose connector...

Excuse me? What is so hard to understand? There is only one blower for a car's climate control. There is a selector door that directs that air either across the a/c coil or the heater core to create the desired temp. Whatever controls that door, flap, vent, what have you is not working. I'm not real sure how I'm mis-speaking but please feel free to elaborate on any weak areas.

Thank you to the others who were helpful in their reply, and obviously understood the issue. I will check the connections back there. I need to pull the radio for an aftermarket deck anyway.

Edit: thanks a lot for that link! The wiring diagram will come in handy!
