I believe you're referring to the midpipe.

Midpipe resonator.

Helmholtz type resonator. seems to help the powerband be a lot smoother.

LOL i'd hope so, rubber ridged pipe and box to a smooth metal tube. i just want a cleaner look, i assumed the performance would go along with it, i have a ghetto short ram right now, i was hoping to get a cold air, and get that box out of there, anyone have a site to where i could get one, i've been looking and i cant find it

the stock unit keeps the powerband more linear, you mistook what I typed.

way to kill my dreams. i guess the box stays, unless they make aftermarket resonators that work just as well if not better.

I put on an aftermarket CAI and just took all that stuff off, rigged it and have been lovin that sound ever since. I think that the box you're refering to is just as mentioned, a resinator. Another possibility is that it acts as a trap for when you run WOT. Dunno ... just a guess. Go CAI and love it

It does not act as a trap under WOT, it is only a resonator, which quites the sound. Similar to a resonator on the b-pipe which helps quiet the exhaust.
